CVAI ("we" or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. CVAI acts as the controller of the personal data collected through the service; for any data protection matter you can contact us at contact@cvai.pro.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you provide to us, including but not limited to:

• Name, email address, and contact information
• Professional information from your LinkedIn profile
• Resume/CV content and job application related information
• Payment information when you subscribe to our premium services
• Communication preferences and feedback

2.2 Usage Information

We may also collect information about how you access and use our service, including:

• Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
• Device information
• Cookie data
• Usage patterns and preferences

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:

• Providing, maintaining, and improving our services

We process your personal data where it is necessary to provide the service you have requested, where you have given us your consent, and where we have a legitimate interest in maintaining, improving, and protecting our services, always in accordance with applicable data protection law.

3.1 If you access CVAI through your school

If you signed up through the link of a school we work with (for example your bootcamp) and that school has switched it on, we may email you a reminder about your next step in CVAI and, in the weeks after your first CV, up to three short questions about how your job search is going: whether you have had interviews or a job offer. Answering is optional. Your school can ask us to send that reminder to the people who have not moved forward yet, without ever learning who they are. And if you mark an application as sent, after a week we may remind you to follow up, with a message already drafted that you can send yourself if you want.

Your school only receives aggregated statistics, for example how many people have created a CV or had an interview. It never receives your name, your email, your documents or your answers. Averages and figures about interviews and job offers are not shown when they refer to fewer than five people. Your advisor only sees one of your documents if you choose to share it, and only that document.

You can turn these emails down when you sign up, in Settings or from the link in each of them, and also by writing to contact@cvai.pro. We send them on the basis of our legitimate interest in making the service useful to you and measuring its results in aggregate, and you can object at any time. We keep the record of which emails we sent you and of your answers for one year at most. If you tick one of your offers when answering, that change stays in your offer tracker like any other change you make.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption and security measures. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service to you. When you stop using the service or request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your information, unless we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations.

4.1 Voice in mock interviews

If you dictate your answers in a mock interview, the audio is processed on your own device. A speech recognition model runs inside your browser and produces the transcription there. The audio is never sent to our servers, and we do not store any recording of your voice.

Where your device or browser cannot run that model, dictation falls back to your browser own speech recognition service. In that case the audio may be sent to the browser vendor servers (for example Google in Chrome) to be transcribed, under that vendor privacy policy. The application always shows which engine is in use.

The model files are downloaded by your browser from third-party public CDNs (Hugging Face and jsDelivr) and cached on your device. Those downloads carry no personal data and no audio.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with:

• Trusted service providers acting on our behalf to host the platform, send emails, notify our team, keep backups, process payments, import a LinkedIn profile when you ask for it, and generate documents using artificial intelligence, subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations
• Partners with whom we offer co-branded services or marketing promotions
• Law enforcement or other third parties when required by law

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In those cases, we apply the appropriate safeguards required by applicable law to protect your information.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access and receive a copy of your data
• The right to rectify or update your data
• The right to erase your data
• The right to restrict processing of your data

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our service and hold certain information. The following cookies are used on our website:

• Authentication cookies (auth_status, is_authenticated) - Required for user login
• Session cookies - Required for basic website functionality
• Security cookies - Required for protecting against fraud

7.2 Non-Essential Cookies

• Analytics cookies - Help us understand how visitors interact with our website

7.3 Analytics Tools We Use

To understand what works well and what we can improve, we use one tool. It is not used for advertising and does not share your information with advertisers:

• Vercel Analytics: measures how many visits each page receives, in aggregate and anonymously. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and cannot identify individual people.

This provider is based in the United States and processes data on our behalf, with the safeguards described in section 5. If you would rather not take part, choose "Essential only" in the cookie notice: the platform will keep working normally.

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our site and some services and functionalities may not work.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for use by children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
